STARTING THE PROCESS OF AN INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
Welcome to the CNEP student advising Link. Before meeting with your advisor, it is important you think about your goals for completing a degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology. To help you, we have designed a planning and development process activity referred to here as an individual development Plan (IDP). An IDP worksheet is provided for your use in this link. We are asking that you complete the worksheet as best you can before meeting with your advisor as it will help you to focus on your goals in a number of areas. On this IDP worksheet you will find two broad areas that contribute to success in professional counseling: Personal and Professional development.
Please read and reflect on each area and describe current efforts or present goals for addressing this area. Your advisor will discuss and review with you this plan at your first faculty advising meeting. IMPORTANT: THE SURVEY REQUIRES A RESPONSE AND COMMENTS ON ALL QUESTIONS. PLEASE DO NOT SKIP ANY QUESTIONS OR COMMENT BOXES.
Remember, this is your plan. There are no right or wrong answers. Your responses will remain confidential in your file and used only to document that you have participated in the monitoring process as required by our CACREP accreditors. Thank you for your cooperation in this advising initiative. Our faculty is committed to working closely with you throughout your program of study.
